Charlie Batch Madden Career 1999-2013 - Peak 82 OVR

Charlie Batch was born on December 5, 1974, in Homestead, Pennsylvania. He played college football at Eastern Michigan, finishing with 7,592 passing yards, and the Detroit Lions drafted him in the second round, 60th overall, in 1998. He started 12 games as a rookie, and Madden NFL 99 carried a calculated 72 for that 1998 season, a figure derived from his attributes. Madden NFL 2001 rated him 87 for 2000, his highest figure and his last full season as an NFL starter.

He started nine games in 2001 before an injury, and Detroit released him the following offseason. Madden NFL 03 rated him 65 for 2002, a season he spent as Pittsburgh's third-string quarterback without playing. He remained with the Steelers for 11 seasons, mostly behind Ben Roethlisberger, and earned Super Bowl rings for the 2005 and 2008 seasons without appearing in either game. On September 7, 2006, starting the opener in place of Roethlisberger, he threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

Madden NFL 11 rated him 67 for 2010, the year he threw three touchdown passes in a 38-13 win over Tampa Bay during Roethlisberger's suspension. On December 2, 2012, he led a game-winning drive at Baltimore for a 23-20 victory over the Ravens. Pittsburgh did not re-sign him after that season. Across 15 NFL seasons he appeared in 81 games and threw for 11,085 yards with 61 touchdowns and 52 interceptions. He received the Byron 'Whizzer' White NFL Man of the Year Award in 2012.
