Updated What's New in the Simulation Model

The engine is re-tuned against real 2025 NFL results, so simulated seasons track real-world team and player stats far more closely. The headline improvements:

  • Matchup-driven passing. Every completion is resolved against the defender actually in coverage, so strong secondaries shut passing down and weak ones get exposed.
  • Fixed ball-carrier share. Lead backs carry the load, pure runners no longer catch phantom passes, and receiving backs get their real target share.
  • Realistic receiving spread. Elite receivers and tight ends no longer post impossible catch totals - targets distribute the way real offenses do.
  • True-to-life QB lines. Passing volume and efficiency match real per-game rates, scrambles add rushing yards, and backups no longer sit at zero.
  • Home-field advantage. Each team carries its own real home edge, built from a decade of splits.
  • Full scoring picture. Calibrated league scoring, sacks spread across a pass rush, smarter interceptions, and defensive / return touchdowns that actually happen.

Because of these changes, results will differ from sims you ran or saved before the update.
