Aaron Rodgers was born on December 2, 1983, in Chico, California. He played one season at Butte College before transferring to California, and Green Bay selected him 24th overall in the 2005 draft. He appeared in seven games across three seasons behind Brett Favre, and Madden NFL 08 dropped him to 76 for the 2007 season.
He took over as the starter in 2008. Green Bay beat Pittsburgh 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011, and Rodgers was the game's Most Valuable Player; Madden NFL 11 had rated him 94 for the 2010 season. He was the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player for 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021 and a first-team AP All-Pro in each of those four seasons. Madden NFL 13 gave him his first 99, for the 2012 season. Broken collarbones limited him to nine games in 2013 and seven in 2017.
Green Bay traded him to the New York Jets in April 2023, and he tore his Achilles tendon four snaps into his debut on September 11, 2023, the season for which Madden NFL 24 listed him at 86. He started all 17 games for the Jets in 2024, throwing 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions, then signed with Pittsburgh in June 2025 and started 16 games. He was selected to ten Pro Bowls. Through the 2025 season he had 66,274 passing yards and 527 touchdown passes.
