Brilliance at the peak, chaos at the end

Antonio Brown was a sixth-round pick who became one of the most productive receivers of the decade, an elite route runner whose quickness and hands made him nearly impossible to cover. His Steelers peak, 2013 through 2017, was among the best sustained stretches any receiver has had.

Madden climbed him from a 69 to a 99 by the 2019 edition, on four straight first-team All-Pros. The end was as turbulent as the peak was brilliant, contentious exits and serious off-field, legal and behavioral issues, brief stops in Oakland and New England, and a Super Bowl LV win with Tampa Bay that ended with him walking off mid-game. On production alone, more than 900 catches, a Hall of Fame resume, and a reminder of how great he was before it all came apart.
