The rushing grade scores what a back does with each carry beyond what the blocking gave him: vision, patience to the hole, burst through it and the yards that follow. It is graded per carry, so a workhorse and a change-of-pace back are on the same footing. Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) and Derrick Henry (Alabama) posted the kind of grades that translate regardless of the line in front of them.
