Lamar Jackson was born January 7, 1997 in Pompano Beach, Florida, and won the 2016 Heisman Trophy at Louisville. Baltimore drafted him 32nd overall in 2018, the fifth quarterback taken that year. He appeared in 16 games as a rookie and started seven. Madden NFL 19 rated him 79 for 2018, and Madden NFL 20 put him at 76 for 2019.

The 2019 season produced 1,206 rushing yards, a single-season record for a quarterback, and a unanimous MVP award, the second in league history. Madden NFL 21 rated him 94 for 2020. He was named to the Pro Bowl for 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024, and he won a second MVP in 2023.

During the 2024 season he passed Michael Vick to become the NFL's career leader in rushing yards by a quarterback. He started all 17 games that year, and Madden NFL 25 rated him 98 for it. Through the 2025 season he had played 116 regular-season games for Baltimore, and the five-year, $260 million extension he signed in April 2023 made him the highest-paid player in the league at the time.
