Dorsey Levens was born on May 21, 1970, in Syracuse, New York, attended Nottingham High School, began his college career at Notre Dame and transferred to Georgia Tech, where he ran for 823 yards in 1993 and was named first-team All-ACC. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the fifth round of the 1994 draft with the 149th pick. He was used mainly as a fullback early on and caught 48 passes in 1995, a season with a calculated rating of 66 in Madden NFL 96.
Levens ran for 566 yards in 1996 and carried 10 times for 88 yards in the NFC Championship Game win over Carolina, catching Green Bay's first touchdown, before the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI. He took over as the starting halfback in 1997 after Edgar Bennett's Achilles injury, rushed for 1,435 yards and was selected to the Pro Bowl; Madden NFL 98 carried a calculated 76 for that season.
He broke his fibula in 1998 and gained 1,034 rushing yards in 1999, when he scored four touchdowns in the season finale against Arizona and appeared on the PAL cover of Madden NFL 2000, an edition that carried a calculated 87 for him. Levens played for Philadelphia, the Giants and Philadelphia again from 2002 to 2004 and retired in 2006. He gained 4,955 rushing yards and caught 304 passes for 2,334 yards.
