Ricky Williams was born on May 21, 1977 in San Diego, California. He rushed for 2,124 yards at Texas in 1998, winning the Heisman Trophy and a second straight Doak Walker Award. New Orleans traded its entire draft to move up for him at fifth overall in 1999, and he ran for 884 yards as a rookie. Madden NFL 2000 put him at a calculated 92 for that 1999 season.
The Saints traded him to Miami in March 2002. He led the NFL with 1,853 rushing yards that year and was a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection, and Madden NFL 04 rated him 97 for the 2003 season that followed. He retired in July 2004 facing a four-game suspension under the league's substance-abuse policy, returned for 12 games in 2005, a season Madden NFL 06 rated him 72, then served a season-long suspension in 2006 and spent that year with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.
He played one game in 2007, then rushed for 659 yards in 2008 and 1,121 in 2009 back with Miami and shared the backfield with Ronnie Brown in 2010, when Madden NFL 11 rated him 87. He signed with Baltimore for 2011 and passed 10,000 career rushing yards in the season finale at Cincinnati. He retired in February 2012 with 10,009 rushing yards, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
