Emmitt Smith was born on May 15, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida. He played at Escambia High School and the University of Florida, and Dallas took him 17th overall in the 1990 draft. He was the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year. Madden NFL 92 put him at a calculated 76 for the 1991 season, the first of four rushing titles, the others coming in 1992, 1993 and 1995.

On January 2, 1994 he separated his right shoulder against the Giants and kept playing, rushing for 168 yards in a 16-13 overtime win that decided the NFC East. He was the Associated Press Most Valuable Player for 1993 and the MVP of Super Bowl XXVIII, the second of his three championships in Dallas, and Madden NFL 94 put him at a calculated 99 for the 1993 season.

He was a first-team All-Pro from 1992 through 1995 and made eight Pro Bowls. Madden NFL 97 rated him 99 for the 1996 season. On October 27, 2002 he passed Walter Payton's career rushing mark with an 11-yard run against Seattle, and Madden NFL 03 rated him 82 for that season. He spent 2003 and 2004 in Arizona and retired as a Cowboy in February 2005. He finished with 18,355 rushing yards and 164 rushing touchdowns, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
