Eugene Robinson Madden Career 1992-2000 - Peak 95 OVR

Eugene Robinson was born on May 28, 1963 in Hartford, Connecticut. He walked on at Colgate, which offered no athletic scholarships, wrestled for the school and worked at McDonald's to pay tuition before becoming a starting defensive back as a sophomore. The Seattle Seahawks signed him as an undrafted free agent in 1985, and he spent 11 seasons there. He led the NFL with nine interceptions in 1993 and was named second-team All-Pro; Madden NFL 94 put him at a calculated 89 for that season.

Madden NFL 95 raised him to a calculated 95 for 1994. Seattle traded him to Green Bay for defensive end Matt LaBounty on June 27, 1996, and he won Super Bowl XXXI in his first season there; Madden NFL 97 listed him at a stored 60 for that year. He intercepted John Elway in the end zone in Super Bowl XXXII.

Robinson joined Atlanta in 1998, earned his third Pro Bowl selection and broke up a would-be winning touchdown pass to Randy Moss in the NFC Championship Game; Madden NFL 99 rated that season a calculated 83. The night before Super Bowl XXXIII he was arrested for soliciting a prostitute, and he returned the Bart Starr Award he had received earlier that day. He played a final season with Carolina in 2000 and retired with 57 interceptions and 1,415 tackles across 16 seasons.
