A hard-hitting tone-setter for a rising dynasty

Lawyer Milloy was a physical, downhill strong safety and a tone-setter in the box, a cornerstone of the early Patriots dynasty whose intensity anchored a team on the rise. He was durable to a rare degree, starting nearly every game across fifteen years.

Madden had him at a 98 by the 2004 edition, around the Super Bowl XXXVI title and a run of Pro Bowls. A famous contract dispute led to a stunning release just before the 2003 season, and he stayed a productive starter in Buffalo, Atlanta and Seattle, finishing with 25 interceptions and more than 1,400 tackles.
