Fifth-round Aztec, 17 sacks in 2000, six straight Pro Bowls

La'Roi Glover was born on July 4, 1974 in San Diego, graduated from Point Loma High School, played college football at San Diego State, and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round of 1996, 166th overall. He appeared in two games as a rookie and joined the New Orleans Saints in 1997. Madden NFL 98 listed him at a calculated 62 for that season.

Glover became a full-time starter in 1998, and Madden NFL 2000 put him at a calculated 86 for the 1999 season. He recorded 17 sacks in 2000, led the NFL and was named first-team All-Pro. Madden NFL 02 rated him 96 for 2001, his last year in New Orleans, and Madden NFL 04 rated him 97 for 2003.

He signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2002 and made the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons there, part of six consecutive selections from 2000 through 2005. Glover spent his final three years with the St. Louis Rams and announced his retirement on June 22, 2009 with 83.5 career sacks across 13 seasons. He later worked as the Rams' director of player engagement, and San Diego State inducted him into its Aztec Hall of Fame.
