Terry Glenn won the Biletnikoff at Ohio State as the best receiver in college football, then went seventh overall to New England in 1996 and caught 90 passes as a rookie, then the most ever by a first-year player. His early Madden cards peaked at a 95 in that Patriots prime, the number of a true number-one, before injuries and friction complicated his time in New England and a year in Green Bay.

Dallas gave him a second act, and the card settled into a lower but honest register. Through his Cowboys years the grade sat in the 80s, an 87 and an 88, no longer the 95 of his youth but the steady number of a veteran deep threat who could still play. He backed it up on the field, two 1,000-yard seasons in 2005 and 2006 as a key target for a young Tony Romo, proof that the resurgence was real and not just a name hanging on.

A knee injury effectively ended his career after a single game in 2007, closing out a run of 593 catches and nearly 9,000 yards. Glenn died in a single-vehicle accident near Dallas in November 2017, at just 43, a loss that hit the Cowboys community hard.
