The best undrafted receiver the game has seen

Rod Smith went undrafted out of Missouri Southern and retired as the most productive undrafted receiver in NFL history. A precise route runner and reliable target, he was a key weapon on Denver's back-to-back Super Bowl winners and the franchise's all-time leader in catches.

Madden climbed him from a glitchy early rating to a 95 by the 2002 edition, the peak of a run of 1,000-yard seasons. Two rings, three Pro Bowls and more than 11,000 yards later, he had outworked his pedigree about as far as it can go.
