Chad Johnson was as famous for elaborate end-zone routines as for production, the flamboyant face of the Bengals. Behind the show was a genuine star, a second-round pick who led the league in receiving yards in 2006 and strung together six 1,000-yard seasons.

Madden climbed him from a 66 to a 98 by the 2008 edition, when he was among the two or three best in football. He legally changed his name to Ochocinco for a while, faded out with quiet stops in New England and Miami, and finished with six Pro Bowls and more than 11,000 yards. The production was every bit as loud as the celebrations.
