Kevin Mawae: 16 seasons at center, NFLPA president, Canton 2019

Kevin Mawae was born on January 23, 1971, in Savannah, Georgia, and played college football at LSU. The Seattle Seahawks drafted him in the second round, 36th overall, in 1994, and he started 11 games at right guard as a rookie. Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 74 for the 1994 season. He moved to center in 1996 and started every game there in his last two Seattle seasons.

Mawae signed with the New York Jets in 1998 and was selected to six consecutive Pro Bowls from 1999 through 2004. Madden NFL 2000 put him at a calculated 95 for the 1999 season. A triceps injury in October 2005 ended a streak of 177 consecutive games, and the Jets released him after that year. Madden NFL 06 rated him 98 for the 2005 season.

Tennessee signed him on March 14, 2006, and he started 61 games across four seasons there. Madden NFL 09 rated him 94 for the 2008 season. He returned to the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2009, the second of those years blocking for Chris Johnson's 2,006-yard rushing season, and he retired after 2009 with eight Pro Bowl selections. Mawae served two terms as president of the NFL Players Association from 2008 to 2012, through the 2011 lockout. The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducted him in 2019.
