Blaine Bishop Madden Career 1995-2003 - Peak 90 OVR

The Oilers found Blaine Bishop in the eighth round in 1993, the 214th pick, a 5-foot-9 safety out of Ball State. He turned into one of the hardest hitters of the decade. Four Pro Bowls (1995, 1996, 1997 and 2000) and three All-Pro selections followed, all of it built on a willingness to arrive at the ballcarrier with bad intentions from the strong safety spot. He started for the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV, the January 2000 game that ended one yard short against Kurt Warner's Rams.

His ratings carry that respect. He sat at a 54 in the 1996 edition early on, then commanded a 90 in both the 2000 and 2001 editions, the stretch when he was among the game's most feared defensive backs. Age and wear pulled him back to an 81 and then a 78 as the series reached its 2002 and 2003 editions, and a final season in Philadelphia in 2002 closed things out. Bishop played with a violence that made receivers think twice about crossing the middle, and Tennessee later put him in its Sports Hall of Fame.
