The Freak, and one of the great debut seasons ever
Jevon Kearse arrived with freakish length and speed and immediately terrorized the league, setting a rookie sack record and earning a nickname, the Freak, that fit exactly. The Florida product carried Tennessee to a Super Bowl in his first season.
Madden had him at 93 and a 97 by the 2001 edition, his early peak. Injuries later dulled the burst, but three Pro Bowls in, that first year was as good as any edge rusher has debuted.
