Mike Tomczak Madden Career 1992-2000 - Peak 84 OVR

Mike Tomczak was born on October 23, 1962, in Calumet City, Illinois and played college football at Ohio State. He went undrafted in 1985 and signed with the Chicago Bears, who won Super Bowl XX in his rookie year; he played on the kickoff unit in the 46-10 win on January 26, 1986. He started the Bears' 20-12 playoff win over Philadelphia on December 31, 1988, a game played in heavy fog at Soldier Field.

Green Bay signed him after the 1990 season, and he started seven games and threw 11 touchdown passes in 1991, a year Madden NFL 92 graded at a calculated 30. He spent 1992 in Cleveland, signed with Pittsburgh in 1993 and stayed seven seasons; Madden NFL 95 listed him at a calculated 84 for 1994.

Tomczak started Pittsburgh's last 15 regular-season games of 1996 and both playoff games, and the Steelers won 11 of them, with Madden NFL 97 grading that season at 53. He spelled Kordell Stewart for stretches of 1999, a season Madden NFL 2000 put at a calculated 71, and threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns in his last game, a 47-36 loss to Tennessee. He broke his right tibia in a 2000 preseason game with Detroit and did not play again, finishing with 16,079 passing yards, 88 touchdowns and 106 interceptions.
