Mike Minter Madden Career 1999-2007 - Peak 92 OVR

Mike Minter played all ten of his NFL seasons in Carolina and left as the face of the franchise defense. A second-round pick out of Nebraska in 1997, the 56th selection and a piece of the Huskers' 1994 and 1995 national title teams, he became the tone-setter in the Panthers secondary, a hitter who lined up all over the formation and rarely came off the field.

Super Bowl XXXVIII against New England defined his toughness. He broke his left foot in the third quarter and refused to leave, finishing the game with 18 tackles, second most on the Carolina defense in a narrow loss. Over his 1997 to 2006 run he piled up 15 interceptions and roughly 790 tackles, and he set franchise records with 141 starts and 94 in a row.

Madden rewarded the consistency more each year. He sat in the mid-70s through the early 2000s, a 77 in the 2000 edition, before the 2003 game bumped him to 85. His 92 in the 2004 release marked the top, and the 2005 and 2006 editions held him at 90 before a final-year dip to 84.
