Luke Kuechly Madden Career 2013-2020 - Peak 99 OVR

Luke Kuechly was born on April 20, 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and played college football at Boston College, where he led the NCAA in combined tackles in 2010 and 2011. He entered the draft after his junior year, and Carolina selected him ninth overall in 2012. He led the NFL with 164 tackles as a rookie and won Defensive Rookie of the Year. Madden NFL 13 rated him 81.

In 2013, his second season, he was named first-team All-Pro and Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year at 22. He led the league in tackles again in 2014, a season Madden NFL 15 rated 94. The Panthers went 15-1 in 2015 and lost Super Bowl 50 to Denver, and Madden NFL 16 rated him 96. A concussion suffered against New Orleans in November 2016 was part of a season that ended after ten games, and Madden NFL 17 rated him 99.

He was first-team All-Pro again in 2017 and 2018, then announced his retirement on January 14, 2020 at the age of 28, citing the effects of his concussions. All eight of his seasons were spent in Carolina, and he finished with 1,092 tackles, 18 interceptions, 12.5 sacks, seven Pro Bowls, five first-team All-Pro selections and a place on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2026.
