Mike Wahle was born on March 29, 1977, in Portland, Oregon, and played college football at Navy, resigning from the academy in his senior year after testing positive for steroids. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the second round of the 1998 NFL supplemental draft. Madden NFL 2000 put his first extended season, 13 starts in 1999 split between left guard and left tackle, at a calculated 67.
He settled at left guard in 2001 and started all 16 games there in each of his last four Green Bay seasons, blocking for Brett Favre. Madden NFL 04 rated him 86 for 2003 and Madden NFL 05 rated him 93 for 2004. Wahle signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent in 2005, started every game and was selected to the Pro Bowl; Madden NFL 07 rated him 96 for 2006, his second season in Carolina.
The Panthers released him on February 11, 2008, and he signed with the Seattle Seahawks three days later. He started 10 games before a shoulder injury sent him to injured reserve that December. Seattle released him after a failed physical on July 31, 2009, and he retired. Wahle played 152 games with 138 starts over 11 seasons.
