Cincinnati tackle who made 114 starts for the Jets
Jason Fabini was born on August 25, 1974 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was a four-year starter at left tackle for Cincinnati, where he played 44 games with 43 starts. The New York Jets drafted him in the fourth round, 111th overall, in 1998. He started all 16 games at right tackle as a rookie under Bill Parcells and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, a season Madden NFL 99 put at a calculated 75.
He tore an anterior cruciate ligament in the ninth game of 1999 and missed the rest of the year. He moved to left tackle in 2000, a season Madden NFL 2001 rated 87 and one in which the Jets line tied a league low of 20 sacks allowed. He started all 16 games in each of the next four seasons. Madden NFL 03 listed him at 90 for 2002.
A torn chest muscle ended his 2005 season after nine games at right tackle, and the Jets released him. He played 15 games for Dallas in 2006 without a start, then started 13 games at right guard for Washington in 2007, a season Madden NFL 08 rated 82. He played 152 games with 129 starts, 114 of them for the Jets, and was inducted into the University of Cincinnati Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.
