Doug Pederson was born on January 31, 1968 in Bellingham, Washington. He played quarterback at Northeast Louisiana from 1987 to 1990, went undrafted in 1991 and signed with the Miami Dolphins. He made his NFL debut on October 24, 1993 against Indianapolis and appeared in seven games that season after Dan Marino and Scott Mitchell were injured.
Pederson joined Green Bay in 1995 and backed up Brett Favre, and he was on the roster when the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI. Madden NFL 98 carried a calculated 49 overall for the 1997 season, when he played one game, and he appeared in 12 as a backup in 1998. Philadelphia signed him in February 1999 and he started nine games, throwing for 1,276 yards with seven touchdowns and nine interceptions before Donovan McNabb took over. Madden NFL 2000 carried a calculated 75 for that season.
He signed with Cleveland in September 2000 and started eight games, throwing for 1,047 yards; Madden NFL 2001 listed 70 for the 2000 season. He returned to Green Bay in 2001 and spent four more seasons as Favre's backup without a start. He finished with 2,762 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in 17 starts. He coached Philadelphia to a 41-33 win over New England in Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018, and was head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2022 to 2024.
