Brock Marion was a seventh-round pick out of Nevada in 1993, a cornerback the Cowboys converted to free safety, and his career had two distinct acts. The first was in Dallas, where he was mostly a backup, special-teamer and kick returner who happened to win two Super Bowls before he had really established himself as a starter.

Madden's grade reflects that arc. Marion shows a high card early, a 92 in Madden NFL 95 for the 1994 season built on 90 speed, and dips into the 60s during his backup years before rising again once he became a full-time starter elsewhere. The grade climbed as the role did.
