Vinny Testaverde was born on November 13, 1963 in New York City, won the 1986 Heisman Trophy at Miami, and went first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1987 draft. Tampa Bay never finished above .500 in his six seasons there, and Madden NFL 93 put him at a calculated 46 for the 1992 season.

He signed with Cleveland in 1993, moved with the franchise to Baltimore, and threw for 4,177 yards and 33 touchdowns in 1996 to earn a Pro Bowl selection. Madden NFL 98 rated him a calculated 86 for the 1997 season. He joined the New York Jets in 1998 and went 12-1 as a starter with 29 touchdowns against seven interceptions, which brought a second Pro Bowl selection. Madden NFL 2000 put him at a calculated 90 for the 1999 season, which ended in the opening game when he ruptured an Achilles tendon.

He returned in 2000 and threw five touchdown passes in a 40-37 overtime win over Miami on October 23, a game the Jets had trailed 30-7. He started 15 games for Dallas in 2004, and Madden NFL 06 listed him at 80 for the 2005 season. Later stops in New England and Carolina extended his run to 21 consecutive seasons with a touchdown pass. He retired after the 2007 season with 46,233 passing yards, 275 touchdowns and 267 interceptions.
