One missed game across thirteen Falcons seasons

Todd McClure blew out his right knee in his first Falcons training camp, then proceeded to miss exactly one game over the next twelve seasons. A Louisiana kid nicknamed Mudbug, he came out of LSU as a seventh-round afterthought, 237th overall in 1999, and grew into the quietest kind of institution in Atlanta.

From his first start in October 2000 until he retired after 2012, McClure was the Falcons' center, snapping to Michael Vick and then to a young Matt Ryan across 195 starts. No Pro Bowls, no noise, just a line anchored every Sunday.

The game rewarded the consistency slowly: a 63 in the 2000 edition, climbing through the 80s, topping out at 91 in the 2006 game and still holding a 90 as late as the 2011 edition, deep into his thirties.
