Biscuit, a star on four straight Super Bowl teams

Cornelius Bennett was a dominant college rusher at Alabama and the second overall pick in 1987, sent to Buffalo in a landmark three-way trade sometimes called the deal of the decade. Nicknamed Biscuit, he anchored the Bills defense through their run of four straight Super Bowl appearances.

Madden, wobbling through the pre-1997 conversion, settled him at a 98 in the 1997 release, the tail of his Buffalo prime. Five Pro Bowls, a first-team All-Pro and more than 70 sacks later, his five Super Bowl trips without a ring, four in Buffalo and a fifth in Atlanta, are a cruel footnote to a great career.
