A complete workhorse who led the league twice
Edgerrin James led the NFL in rushing in each of his first two seasons and became the engine of the early Peyton Manning Colts, a complete back who ran with power, caught the ball, and pass-protected willingly. The Miami product came back from a bad knee to keep producing.
Madden kept him near the top for years, touching 96s in the 2006 and 2007 editions. Four Pro Bowls, more than 12,000 yards and a Hall of Fame bust later, he did every part of the job well.
