A near-perfect kicker remembered for a miss
Mike Vanderjagt took a cross-border road through the CFL, winning two Grey Cups, then became, at his retirement, the most accurate field-goal kicker in NFL history by percentage, an automatic leg through his prime with Indianapolis.
Madden climbed him from a 59 to a 99 by the 2005 edition, right after his perfect 37-for-37 season in 2003. He is remembered for two unflattering things, Peyton Manning calling him the idiot kicker and a badly missed 46-yarder in the January 2006 playoff loss to Pittsburgh that ended his Colts tenure.
