First Bear since Richard Dent with back-to-back double-digit sack years
Rosevelt Colvin was a fourth-round find out of Purdue in 1999, and in Chicago he became the first Bear since Richard Dent to record double-digit sacks in consecutive seasons, with 10.5 in 2001 and another 10.5 in 2002. New England signed him as a prized free agent in 2003, but he shattered his left hip socket in the second week of that season and lost the year, watching the Patriots win Super Bowl XXXVIII without him. He fought back, returned in 2004, played through the postseason and earned a ring in the Super Bowl XXXIX win over Philadelphia. He finished with 52.5 career sacks.
His Madden grades ride that story. A 78 in the 2000 edition dropped to a 65 in 2001, then spiked to 85 in the 2002 edition after his Chicago breakout.
