Duce Staley: 5,785 rushing yards for the Eagles and Steelers
Duce Staley was born on February 27, 1975, and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, attending Airport High School in West Columbia. He rushed for 1,116 yards as a senior at South Carolina in 1996 and was a first-team All-SEC selection. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted him in the third round of the 1997 NFL draft, 71st overall. He became the starter in 1998 after Ricky Watters left, and Madden NFL 99 carried that season at a calculated 76 overall.
Staley started all 16 games in 1999, a season Madden NFL 2000 listed at a calculated 85, and Madden NFL 2001 put his 2000 rating at 88 before a Lisfranc fracture limited him to five games. He started all 16 games again in 2002, which Madden NFL 03 rated 84. In 2003 he shared carries with Correll Buckhalter and Brian Westbrook and was not re-signed.
He signed a five-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 9, 2004, and rushed for 830 yards in 10 games that season, which Madden NFL 05 listed at 85. He was part of the Steelers team that won Super Bowl XL and was released in December 2006. Staley finished with 5,785 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns and 287 receptions for 2,587 yards. He won Super Bowl LII as an Eagles assistant coach in February 2018.
