The juggling playoff pick-six that defined a Giants corner
The signature play hangs in a January sky. In the January 2001 divisional playoff against Philadelphia, Sehorn stepped in front of a Donovan McNabb pass, bobbled it, went to the ground, snatched it before it hit the turf, and ran it back for a touchdown that pushed the Giants toward the NFC title. It was the defining moment of a career built on rare athleticism.
A junior-college transfer who starred at USC, he went to the Giants in the second round in 1994 and became their best cornerback, a genuine burner who also won the ABC Superstars competition three straight years. A torn ACL and MCL on a 1998 preseason kickoff return cost him a season and some of his top-end speed. He reached Super Bowl XXXV with the 2000 Giants and finished with a 2003 season in St. Louis.
Madden 2000 rated him a 91, a true number-one corner mark, before the knee and the years pulled the card into the low 80s. Off the field he married actress Angie Harmon in 2001 after proposing on The Tonight Show.
