Dexter Lawrence was born on November 12, 1997 in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and played three seasons at Clemson before the New York Giants drafted him 17th overall in 2019. He started 16 games as a rookie at defensive end and recorded 2.5 sacks. Madden NFL 20 rated him 76 for that 2019 season.
The Giants moved him to nose tackle in 2022, and he responded with 7.5 sacks, 28 quarterback hits, his first Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. Madden NFL 23 rated him 79 for that season. He signed a four-year, $90 million extension in May 2023, then made a second Pro Bowl and a second consecutive second-team All-Pro list; Madden NFL 24 rated him 94 for 2023. A dislocated elbow ended his 2024 season after 12 games, though he had already set a career high with nine sacks and earned a third straight Pro Bowl.
Madden NFL 26 rated him 97 for 2025, when he started all 17 games. The Giants traded him to Cincinnati in April 2026. Through the 2025 season he had 30.5 sacks and 103 quarterback hits in 109 regular-season games.
