A 2011 rushing champion who ran for 8,167 yards in nine seasons
Maurice Jones-Drew was born on March 23, 1985 in Oakland, California, and attended De La Salle High School in Concord before playing three seasons at UCLA. The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted him in the second round, 60th overall, in 2006. He ran for 941 yards and 13 touchdowns as a rookie reserve, and his 5.7 yards per carry led NFL backs with at least 100 attempts.
Madden NFL 08 rated him 89 for the 2007 season. He became Jacksonville's lead back in 2009 and ran for 1,391 yards, the first of three consecutive Pro Bowl seasons, and Madden NFL 11 rated him 96 for 2010. In 2011 he led the NFL with 1,606 rushing yards and was named first-team All-Pro.
Madden NFL 13 rated him 97 for 2012, a season delayed by a contract holdout and ended by a Lisfranc injury after six games. He started 15 games in 2013, the year Madden NFL 25 rated him 91. He signed with the Oakland Raiders for 2014 and retired in March 2015 with 8,167 rushing yards and 81 total touchdowns. UCLA inducted him into its Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
