Jalen Ramsey was born on October 24, 1994 in Smyrna, Tennessee. He played college football at Florida State, winning a national championship as a freshman in 2013 and earning consensus All-American honours in 2015. The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted him fifth overall in 2016, and he started all 16 games as a rookie with two interceptions and 14 passes defensed. Madden NFL 17 rated him 82.
He was a first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowl selection after the 2017 season, and Madden NFL 18 rated him 86. Jacksonville traded him to the Los Angeles Rams on October 15, 2019 for two first-round picks and a fourth. He signed a five-year, $100 million extension in September 2020, was first-team All-Pro in 2020 and 2021, and started the Rams' 23-20 win over Cincinnati in Super Bowl LVI. Madden NFL 22 rated him 99.
The Rams traded him to Miami in March 2023. A torn meniscus in training camp kept him out until Week 8, and he intercepted a pass in his Dolphins debut. Madden NFL 24 rated him 97. Miami traded him to Pittsburgh on June 30, 2025 in a deal for Minkah Fitzpatrick, and he moved to safety. Through the 2025 season he had 622 tackles, 25 interceptions and six sacks, and he was named to his eighth Pro Bowl.
