Steelers fans did not cheer Heath Miller so much as summon him, drawing out a long Heeeath every time he touched the ball. Pittsburgh took the Virginia tight end 30th overall in 2005, a year after he won the Mackey Award as the nation's best at the position.
He never played for anyone else. Across eleven seasons he caught 592 passes for 6,569 yards and 45 touchdowns, becoming the most productive tight end in franchise history and passing Elbie Nickel in 2011. He won two rings, in Super Bowl XL and Super Bowl XLIII, and made Pro Bowls after the 2009 and 2012 seasons. His finest year came in 2012 with 71 catches and eight scores before a knee injury ended it. He retired in 2016.
Madden respected the reliability. Miller debuted at 81 in the 2005 edition and climbed to a 92 in the 2008 game, the high mark of a rating that rarely dropped far, holding in the 80s and low 90s through the back half of his career.
