Brandon Jacobs Madden Career 2006-2013 - Peak 90 OVR

At 6-foot-4 and 264 pounds, Brandon Jacobs was less a running back than a collision waiting to happen, the 'Earth' in the Giants' Earth, Wind and Fire committee. A fourth-round pick in 2005 out of Southern Illinois, by way of Auburn and a Kansas junior college, he punished defenders foolish enough to meet him high. His 2008 season was his best: 1,089 yards and 15 touchdowns on 219 carries. He scored the winning touchdown in the January 2008 divisional upset at Dallas, part of the run to a stunning Super Bowl XLII victory over the undefeated Patriots.

Madden charted his rise quickly. A 72 rookie in the 2005 edition jumped to 80, then 83, then 87, and finally a 90 in the 2009 edition as he became New York's lead back. He won a second ring in Super Bowl XLVI, again over New England, before a year in San Francisco and a brief return to the Giants. Jacobs retired with 5,094 rushing yards and 60 touchdowns, and a reputation, earned honestly, as one of the era's most unpleasant tackles to make.
