A mulleted motor that never stopped coming

Jared Allen came from Idaho State and became one of the most relentless rushers of his era, a motor-driven end who chased quarterbacks with nonstop energy. He broke out in Kansas City, then had his best years after a 2008 trade to Minnesota.

Madden climbed him from an 84 to a 99 by the 2011 edition, around his 2011 season of 22 sacks, half a sack short of the record. He finished with 136 career sacks, five Pro Bowls and four first-team All-Pros, and went into the Hall of Fame in 2025. The mullet and the calf-roping celebration matched the play, an edge rusher whose signature was effort, never stopping until the whistle.
