Anonymous guard who paved for the Bengals and won a ring in Baltimore

Bobbie Williams spent his rookie contract mostly in reserve in Philadelphia, a 2000 second-round guard out of Arkansas who backed up three straight NFC East title teams. Cincinnati is where he became a fixture. From 2004 through 2011 he anchored the Bengals interior, helping open lanes for their AFC North winners in 2005 and 2009.

Williams played 164 games with 136 starts across 14 seasons, then finished it off in Baltimore, winning Super Bowl XLVII over San Francisco in February 2013. Not a bad ending for a lineman most fans could never name.

His rating tells the slow-build story of a good guard. Williams sat in the 50s in the early 2000s editions, rose steadily through his Bengals prime, reached 88 in the 2010 game and a peak 89 in the 2011 edition, then eased to 82 in the 2012 edition as the career wound down.
