Undrafted Rutgers center who anchored the upset of 18-0
Shaun O'Hara went undrafted out of Rutgers in 2000 and started his career filling in wherever Cleveland needed a body on the line. He remade himself into a center, signed with the Giants in 2004, and four seasons later he was snapping the ball and setting protections for the team that ended New England's perfect season in Super Bowl XLII, a 17-14 win over an 18-0 Patriots outfit.
He was a Giants co-captain that championship year, the middle of a line that kept Eli Manning upright long enough for David Tyree and Plaxico Burress to finish the game. The honors followed the ring: first-team All-Pro in 2008 and three straight Pro Bowls from 2008 through 2010.
Madden respected the climb. An undrafted lineman rated in the low 60s early in the decade, O'Hara pushed into the 80s by the 2004 edition and hit his ceiling at 92 in both the 2008 and 2011 editions, bookending the strongest stretch of his career.
