Curtis Conway: Bears first-rounder, 594 catches in 12 seasons

Curtis Conway was born on January 13, 1971 in Los Angeles and was an All-American quarterback and state 100-metre champion at Hawthorne High School. He arrived at USC as a quarterback and converted to wide receiver in 1991, and the Chicago Bears drafted him seventh overall in 1993. Madden NFL 94 listed a calculated 26 for his rookie season. On November 13, 1994, lined up beside the holder in a field-goal formation against Miami, he took the snap and threw a pass that was tipped and caught by tight end Keith Jennings for a touchdown.

Conway became the first Bears receiver with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, in 1995 and 1996. Madden NFL 96 carried a calculated 89 for the first of them. Injuries limited him to seven games in 1997 and nine in 1999, a season Madden NFL 2000 rated a calculated 91.

He signed with San Diego in 2000 and had a third 1,000-yard season in 2001, which Madden NFL 02 rated 75. He started 15 games for the New York Jets in 2003 and finished with San Francisco in 2004. Conway caught 594 passes for 8,230 yards and 52 touchdowns, and left Chicago with 329 receptions and 4,498 receiving yards.
