Joe Thuney Madden Career 2017-2026 - Peak 93 OVR

Joe Thuney started in the Super Bowl in each of his first three NFL seasons, the first player in league history to do that. New England spent a third-round pick, 78th overall, on him in 2016 out of NC State, where he had been the program's first All-American offensive lineman since 1979. He won rings with the Patriots in Super Bowls LI and LIII, then two more in Kansas City in Super Bowls LVII and LVIII.

What set him apart was that he could line up anywhere. Over his career he started at left guard, right guard, both tackle spots and center, and when the Chiefs needed an emergency left tackle he slid out and held up. The honors arrived late: four straight Pro Bowls from 2022 through 2025 and three consecutive first-team All-Pro selections. In Chicago in 2025 he anchored a line that cut its sacks allowed from 68 to 24 and won the inaugural Protector of the Year award.

His Madden number climbed the way his reputation did. He opened as a 70 in the 2016 edition, sat at 79 as a quiet Patriots starter in the 2018 edition, and finally reached a 93 by the 2025 edition.
