Terry Allen: 8,614 rushing yards, 21 rushing TDs in 1996

Terry Allen was born on February 21, 1968 in Commerce, Georgia, and played at Banks County High School in Homer before four years at Clemson, where he was ACC Rookie of the Year in 1987 and twice first-team All-ACC. Minnesota drafted him in the ninth round, 241st overall, in 1990. He debuted in 1991 behind Herschel Walker, then took over as the starter in 1992 and ran for 1,201 yards and 13 touchdowns; Madden NFL 93 rated that season a calculated 69.

Allen tore an anterior cruciate ligament in practice in the summer of 1993 and missed the entire season. He came back for 1,031 rushing yards in 1994, then signed with Washington and ran for 1,309 yards in 1995, a year Madden NFL 96 rated a calculated 76.

In 1996 he rushed for 1,353 yards and led the NFL with 21 rushing touchdowns, becoming the fifth player to reach 20 in a season, and he was named to the Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro. Madden NFL 97 listed a stored 86 for that season and Madden NFL 98 a calculated 95 for 1997. He later played for New England, New Orleans and Baltimore, leading the Ravens with 658 rushing yards in 2001. Allen finished 11 seasons with 8,614 rushing yards, 73 rushing touchdowns and 204 receptions.
