Central State to Cowboys right tackle, four Pro Bowls, three rings

Erik Williams was born on September 7, 1968, in Philadelphia and played college football at Central State in Ohio. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the third round, 70th overall, in 1991. He took over at right tackle in 1992 and reached his first Pro Bowl after the 1993 season, a year for which Madden NFL 94 gave him a calculated 79.

Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 98 for 1994. A one-car accident on October 24 of that year damaged his right knee, broke a rib and ended his season after seven games. He returned to start 15 games in 1995 and was a first-team All-Pro in 1993, 1995 and 1996, with further Pro Bowl selections after the 1996, 1997 and 1999 seasons.

Williams blocked for Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith on the Dallas lines that won Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII and XXX, working beside Nate Newton, Mark Tuinei and Mark Stepnoski. Madden NFL 99 listed him at a calculated 95 for 1998, and Madden NFL 2001 rated him 91 for 2000, his tenth and last season in Dallas. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens on August 28, 2001, and played five games there as a reserve in what proved to be his final NFL season.
