The tackle who gave a name to the pancake block

Orlando Pace was so dominant at Ohio State that he popularized the pancake block, then went first overall in 1997, the first lineman taken number one in nearly three decades. He anchored the blind side of the Greatest Show on Turf.

Madden climbed him from a 67 to a 98 held across the 2004 and 2005 editions, the best left tackle of his era protecting an offense that won Super Bowl XXXIV and reshaped the game. Seven Pro Bowls, three first-team All-Pros and a 2016 Hall of Fame nod later, he was a mountain with the feet to mirror anyone.
