James Hasty Madden Career 1992-2000 - Peak 96 OVR

James Hasty was born on May 23, 1965 in Seattle, played at Central Washington before transferring to Washington State, and was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round, 74th overall, in 1988. He made the PFWA All-Rookie Team, started 15 games that season, and started every game over the next six years at right cornerback. Madden NFL 95 rated him a calculated 96 for the 1994 season, when he intercepted five passes and recorded three sacks.

Hasty signed with Kansas City in 1995 and spent six seasons there, lining up opposite Dale Carter. He recorded no interceptions in 1996, a season for which Madden NFL 97 rated him 62, though he did return a fumble 80 yards for a touchdown. He made his first Pro Bowl after 1997 and was named second-team All-Pro that year, and Madden NFL 99 rated him a calculated 89 for the 1998 season.

At 34 in 1999, Hasty intercepted seven passes to tie for the NFL lead, returned two for touchdowns, and was selected to a second Pro Bowl. Madden NFL 2001 rated him 90 for the 2000 season. He played one game for Oakland in 2001 and finished with 45 interceptions for 555 yards and four touchdowns, plus 910 combined tackles, in 206 games over 14 seasons.
