Troy Aikman was born on November 21, 1966 in West Covina, California. He began college at Oklahoma, transferred to UCLA, and Dallas made him the first overall pick of the 1989 draft. The Cowboys lost all eleven games he started as a rookie. Madden NFL 92 put him at a calculated 56 for the 1991 season, the year he made the first of six consecutive Pro Bowls.
On January 31, 1993 he threw four touchdown passes in Super Bowl XXVII and was the game's Most Valuable Player. Dallas won Super Bowl XXVIII a year later, and Madden NFL 94 put him at a calculated 89 for the 1993 season that produced it. Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 98 for 1994, and a third title followed in Super Bowl XXX after the 1995 season.
He sustained ten concussions in his career, four of them in his last 20 starts, and played eleven games in each of 1998 and 2000. Madden NFL 2001 rated him 90 for that final season. Dallas released him on March 7, 2001, and he announced his retirement on April 9, citing chronic back trouble, with 32,942 passing yards and 165 touchdown passes. He joined Fox as an NFL game analyst that year and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
