Jordy Nelson was born May 31, 1985 in Manhattan, Kansas, was a consensus All-American at Kansas State in 2007, and went to the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2008 draft, 36th overall. He caught 33 passes for 366 yards as a rookie, and Madden NFL 09 listed him at 78 for that season. He caught 22 passes in 2009, and Madden NFL 10 dropped him to 69.
In Super Bowl XLV he caught nine passes for 140 yards, breaking Max McGee's franchise record of 138 receiving yards in a Super Bowl, and his 29-yard touchdown opened the scoring in a 31-25 win over Pittsburgh. He scored 15 touchdowns in 2011, and Madden NFL 13 rated him 89 for 2012. In 2014 he caught 98 passes for 1,519 yards, then a Packers single-season record, and was named second-team All-Pro; Madden NFL 15 put him at 93.
A torn ACL cost him the entire 2015 season. He returned in 2016 with 97 catches for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns, which led the NFL, and was named Comeback Player of the Year. His last season was 2018 in Oakland, rated 86 in Madden NFL 19. Nelson retired in March 2019 with 613 receptions for 8,587 yards and 72 touchdowns, and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2023.
