Jon Jansen Madden Career 2000-2010 - Peak 91 OVR

They called Jansen "The Rock," and he earned it the hard way, by simply not leaving the field. He set a Michigan record with 50 consecutive starts, won a share of the 1997 national title in Ann Arbor, and carried that durability to Washington after they drafted him in the second round, 37th overall, in 1999. Through his first five pro seasons he started every game the team played, more than 80 in a row.

Then the body caught up. A ruptured Achilles in the 2004 preseason wiped out an entire year, and a broken, dislocated ankle in the 2007 opener cost him another. He fought back both times, earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2005, and spent a decade as Washington's right tackle before a final season with Detroit in 2009. He later became a familiar voice on Detroit sports radio.

His Madden card holds firm through his prime. He opens at 87 in the 2000 edition and settles into a long plateau at 91 across the 2003 through 2006 games, the steady peak of a player defined by showing up. The number finally slips to 74 in the 2010 edition as the injuries took their toll.
